EDMONTON, ALBERTA- May 10, 2012 Recording Artist Jon Bauer has a double honor this May. Heading out on a Canadian tour with Grammy Award winner Michael W. Smith, he also is the great recipient of an Independent Music Award. “It is an honour to be on tour with the legendary Michael W. Smith. His records were the first ones I ever owned and I still have them today. I am humbled that God is allowing my music to be shared with so many new folks on this tour and connect them to the heart of God even further!” Michael W. Adding to his tour excitement this Spring, Bauer is also the recipient of an Independent Music Award. The winners in more than 70 Album, Song, Music Video and Design categories from thousands of submissions from around the globe, were determined by a panel of influential artists and music industry pros including Keith Richards, Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan, Del McCoury, Ozzy Osbourne, Bettye LaVette, Jim Lauderdale, Joshua Redman, Shelby Lynne, Kevin Lyman (Warped Tour), Alan Light (Live From The Artists Den), Jason Olaine (Jazz At Lincoln Center), and Evan Schlansky (American Songwriter).

Bauer walked away with the Contemporary Christian Album of the year for his 2012 release FOREVERMORE. “The hour I boarded the plane to fly to my first date of the MWS tour I got word that my new album was awarded this honour. As this is an international competition I’m humbled that the songs are permeating borders and that people are being ministered to by these songs not only in my home country but across the globe.”

Born, raised, and still based out of the Edmonton Canada, Jon Bauer tours internationally full time. GMA Canada’s 2008 Male Vocalist of the Year, Jon was also the 2007 SHAI Award (Canada’s People’s Choice) recipient for New Artist of the Year. Fuelled by the success of his critically acclaimed releases Life of Worship (2005) and Surround (2008), which have yielded numerous hit singles in Canada, Jon has received a total of 11 GMA Canada Covenant Award nominations in the past five years. JON BAUER NOMINATED FOR PRESTIGIOUS JUNO AWARD WITH NEW CD, FOREVERMORE;

Bauer On Tour With Michael W. Smith This Coming May

Nashville, Tenn – 8 February 2012 – It was just announced that award-winning Canadian worship artist and songwriter, Jon Bauer, was nominated for Canada’s prestigious JUNO Awards. His most recent release, Forevermore, was recognized as one of the best albums for the Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album of the Year category.

The JUNO Awards are part of The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS). Various events leading up to the awards will kick off March 26th, then culminating with the awards show, which will be held on Sunday, April 1st in Ottawa, Canada.

Bauer debuted Forevermore, his U.S. on January 3rd, 2012 through CLG Distribution and iTunes. Although this is his first major U.S. release, Bauer has four other award-winning albums to his name released in Canada through David C. Cook Distribution.

A worship artist who travels around his native country and worldwide with his music ministry, Jon Bauer will tour in May with Michael W. Smith during Smith’s Canadian run. The tour will kick off May 3rd and run through the 17th, making 11 stops across the country.

About Jon Bauer:
Bauer is a three-time GMA Canada Covenant Award winner and seventeen-time nominee with awards & nominations ranging from “Male Vocalist of the Year” and “Album of the Year” to “Worship Song of the Year.” Bauer was also named MAJA Awards’ “Male Artist of the Year” in 2008 and “New Artist of the Year” in 2007 for the SHAI Award (People’s Choice). Bauer has also stormed the Canadian Christian radio charts, having topped the charts along with receiving numerous other radio accolades.

His January 3rd U.S. release of Forevermore was produced by 2010’s Dove-Award winning producer Rusty Varenkamp (Tenth Avenue North, Meredith Andrews) and mixed by Tom Laune (Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, Bruce Springsteen, Cece Winans). Forevermore is already seeing success around the world as Bauer has recently shared his new songs on tour around Europe, Canada and the States. His first three singles have charted in the top ten with “Chasing After Me,” hitting No. 1 on the Canadian Christian Charts. The album made its debut on the iTunes’ New and Noteworthy section of the Christian homepage and also made its way into the hearts of iTunes staffers by being selected and placed in the notable ‘What We’re Listening To’ section of the site.

Bauer continues his versatility as an artist by recently releasing his fifth project in November 2011, which is also his second children’s album titled: Come And Save Us – Kids Worship: Volume 2. His first children’s project was enthusiastically received by his fans and the industry and was awarded “Children’s Album of the Year” and “Children’s Song of the Year” for the GMA Covenant Awards.

2011 Gospel Music Assocation -Covenant Awards

The nominations for the 2011 GMA Canada Covenant Awards were announced today. Jon received nominations in 5 categories including “Male Vocalist of the Year”, “Song of the Year”, “Worship Song of the Year”, “Kids Song of the Year” and “Classical/Traditional Song of the Year”. NEW KIDS CD COMING THIS SEPTEMBER

On the heels of Jon’s first Kids Worship CD that was awarded “Children’s Album of the Year” by the Gospel Music Association Canada, Jon is releasing a second Kids Worship CD this coming September. Entitled “Come and Save Us” the new album features 13 tracks with Jon leading in worship with a Kids Choir and Child Soloists joining in throughout the project.

The songs on this new project are to help kids in both horizontal and vertical worship. There are several songs on the CD that are corporate in nature, allowing children of all ages to sing together about who our God is and what He has done for us. However, as Jon prayed through this project it became very clear that some of the songs were also to help children in their personal relationship with God. Jon shares “I know that there are many children in the churches and in the schools that I join with as I go out on tour that don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus. They may sing about God but they may not truly Know God.” This newest project is filled with songs, prayers and scriptures that will encourage a child to enter into their own relationship with Jesus – even a prayer to ask Jesus into their hearts to be their Forever Friend. “This is what excites me most about this album. My prayer is that through this album – thousands upon thousands of children give their life to Jesus and make the choice to walk with Jesus each day as their friend.”

2010 Covenant Award Nominations

Nominations for the 2010 Covenant Awards were announced today. Jon received nominations in two categories for singles he had released this past year. He received a nomination for “Praise and Worship Song of the Year” for his song “Forevermore”. He also received a second nomination for “Seasonal Song of the Year” for his Christmas song “Silent Night – Our Savior is Born”.
