Jon Bauer Leads 2012 Covenant Award Nominations

Singer/Songwriter Recognized in 10 Categories Including Artist of the Year and Song of the Year
Bauer Confirmed to Perform Live on Awards Show Nov. 7

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) Sept. 28, 2012—Canadian singer/songwriter and worship artist Jon Bauer received 10 Covenant Award nominations during ceremonies held on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the CTS broadcast facilities in Burlington, Ontario. Bauer was this year’s lead nominee, with nods in categories including Artist of the Year and Song of the Year, and will perform live on the awards show Nov. 7.

Holding his own among other top nominees such as Newworldson, downhere, Manafest, Starfield, and The City Harmonic, Bauer was nominated for Artist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Praise and Worship Album of the Year (Forevermore), Praise and Worship Song of the Year (“Come and Save Us”), Song of the Year (“Come and Save Us”), Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year (“Chasing After Me”), Instrumental Song of the Year (“Forevermore”), Children’s Album of the Year (Come and Save Us), Children’s Song of the Year (“Chasing After Me”), and Classical/Traditional Song of the Year (“How Marvelous”).

“I am completely honored that GMA has recognized my songs and artistry this year,” says Bauer. “God never ceases to amaze me with the doors that He continues to open, and I consider it a huge privilege and responsibility to live out my worship on and off the stage.”

Produced by the Gospel Music Association Canada, the Covenant Awards is the pinnacle event in what is known as GMA Canada Week. The 2012 Covenant Awards will be held Wednesday, Nov. 7 at the CTS studios in Burlington and will be broadcast for the first time in GMA Canada history. Worship artist Jon Bauer has released five independent projects which have sold more than 40,000 cumulative copies and generated 12 Canadian radio hits, including a No. 1 single and six Top 5 singles. He has toured with artists including Michael W. Smith and newsboys and continues to play 175+ dates annually.

The tour has already seen several sold-out crowds, and Bauer is planning a second leg this spring. His first U.S. radio single, “Our God,” will begin vying for adds in January.
